I had the privilege of working with this great couple last month! Deanie was my best friend through out high school! She was a great friend and got me through soo much in those last few years! High school would have been a totally different place with out her!
Jon was getting ready to deploy so I offered to take some pictures for them! They were great together! He was sooo sweet to Deanie! I loved seeing her so happy! I can't wait to see what the future holds for these two beautiful people!!

Leslie & Family [April 2009]

This gorgeous family is the 3rd and last of the mini shoots I did at the Cape Fear Botanical Gardens in April! You might remember their Son, Carmine... I did some indoor pictures of him back in February!
Leslie and her husband were married in the gardens in front of the gazebo so this was neat for them to be back there with their son! I hope to get them all back out there later in the summer to get some neat shots of them in front of the gazebo once I get my new lens!
But for now I hope that they love these pictures. I felt like going a little old school on these ones. I did a cool vintage on these and fell in love with the colors! You can see the rest of the shoot and the regular edits on my MySpace page!

Allison & Family [April 2009]

This is the second family from the three mini shoots that I did back in April! They were such a great family! My daughter was with me for the shoot and neither of these little girls were in a good mood! But they were great sports and we pushed through and got some great shots! I promised Allison that I would have these done and in the mail to her by today and I'm so happy that I actually have them finished! It was so hard to choose which pictures to put on the blog! Lindsey & family [April 2009]

I hadn't planned on doing any shoots after Thomas left but couldn't really resist doing pictures for these families! So I squeezed 3 mini-shoots into the last weekend I was in Fayetteville!I shot all 3 at the Cape Fear Botanical Gardens. It's free admission for the whole month of April so half of the city was there! And I spent most of my time dodging wedding photographers and their brides!It has taken me forever to get through the pictures and get them edited since I'm taking classes here in Jacksonville and taking care of Lily but I finally finished the first family:)Lindsey and her family were great to shoot! They are beautiful and were so patient with me!Their son, Benjamin is 6 months old and was so precious! I loved his bald head:)I am sorry that it took me this long to get these to you, but I hope you love them as much as I do! Thank you for coming out and putting up with me and Lily! I really appreciate the practice!

Katie::JHS Senior [March 09]

Katie is graduating from Jacksonville High this summer! Her mom is a teacher at my baby sister's Elementary school! I was so thankful that they gave me the opportunity to do her senior pictures! Katie was a blast! She wasn't shy at all and was up for anything! Unfortunately there wasn't much to be up for since the area we were shooting at was under construction and there were people and trucks everywhere! But I am still really happy with the shots I did get and hope that Katie and her mom are too! I posted the whole shoot on my new Myspace page [linked over on the right hand side of the page].

Lenay and Family

Again, I wanted to shoot somewhere other than the park! So my friend Lenay and her family agreed to model for me down town! It was the first shoot, in a while, that I had Lily with me and my head wasn't completely in the shooting:( She is the same age as mister Gavin and neither of them were enjoying the chilly weather! But I loved the pictures I got of them! I still have big dreams of doing a sexy shoot with just Lenay and her husband sometime this summer and of course, some follow up shoots of Gavin! So stay tuned for those!

Landon the Big Boy!

I love the little park that I usually shoot in but I needed a change! And this little man was the perfect model! I found a grungy parking lot with lots of neat areas for us to shoot at. It was definitely an experience since glass, trash and cigarette butts are all common place in alleys! But we were lucky that Landon didn't pick up any nasties!
He is a typical one year old... he didn't want to sit still or listen to any direction. But his natural curiosity was fun to play around with! He was a trooper! And so was his mom! I hope I have that much energy when Lily turns one!

Mister Carmine

Carmine is just a few weeks older than my daughter and is friends with sweet Sierra! He was so handsome and so great to shoot! I put up a make shift studio in Lily's room and we all crammed in and started shooting! I didn't get very far before my battery died:( But his parents were great and stayed and chatted for a while! I got 15 great pictures of this little guy and am excited to get to shoot him again in the spring! These are my favorites!!

Sorry it has been so long since I last posted! I had my eyes checked the other day and should be getting my glasses sometime this week! I was getting terrible headaches and couldn't edit for any amount of time before they became unbearable! So I've just been doing a few pictures at a time! But I have promised myself and my "clients" that I will have all three of my sessions finished by Wednesday! I finished the first one tonight after I put Lily to bed so I am on track so far!!
Sarah and her family were great! We shot these on one of the many beautiful days we had in February! They were a lot of fun and I loved these shots I got of them!

My parents bought me some photography things for my birthday and I wanted to give my new backgrounds and light a try! So I invited two of my friends to bring their little ones over for a mini valentine's day photo shoot! It was a great day! No huge melt downs and I think I got some really good shots of them all!

This was one of the first nice days [weather-wise] that we've had in a while! I was very excited to get out and shoot! Jessica and her 13 month old daughter Amelia were so much fun! Amelia was full of energy and was all over the place! She was adorable! If you've ever seen my daughter you know I'm partial to pig tails so I was in heaven with this blue-eyed cutie!

Sweet Sierra::January 2009

Sierra was born the day after my daughter, Lily! I was so excited to do this shoot because I thought it would be right up my alley! Well, it didn't go quite as well as I planned! I ended up breaking a candle, spilling hot wax and gas all over their kitchen floor... within 5 minutes of me being there! It was a rough start! But her parents were great and didn't make me feel like the fool I was! Sierra was great! She wasn't quite sitting up yet and didn't like being on her tummy but loved the necklaces and rose petals her mommy bought for the shoot! So all-in-all I think it was a good time and I got some pretty shots of her! So I was happy:)

This family was so great! It was 8:00 in the morning and freezing outside! Little Cohen was sick and Hailey wasn't having too much fun either so we packed up and headed to their house. The shoot ended up being more of a visit with me annoyingly snapping pictures of them every now and then! I didn't get a ton of shots but I do love the ones I did manage to get! Adalynn and Patrick have beautiful children and lovely parents! The morning could have turned out so much worse but they rolled with the punches and were a great family for Lily and I to spend our morning with!!

Jamie and her husband, Hunter welcomed a very beautiful little boy into the world this week! I was lucky enough to be able to shoot their maternity pictures! Jamie is almost 38 weeks in these pictures and had the cutest little baby bump! They are such a great couple to work with... up for anything! And I'm sure they are going to be amazing parents! Stay tuned for some new born pictures in the near future:)

Avalee Haven::January 2009

This beautiful little girl is Avalee Haven! She is 10 months old and was such a joy!
This shoot is what it's all about for me! Avalee was so full of energy and was crawling all over the place! I have only ever shot my daughter, who isn't mobile yet... so this was such great practice with a "moving target"!

These are some of my favorite from the shoot! Avalee played with one of her daddy's old uniform patches for a good part of the shoot! At one point she put the patch in her mouth and started "woofing" at me like a puppy! It was so adorable:)

This one is pretty special too! Avalee was just starting to stand up all by herself!!! I was too worried about her toppling over when she first did it that I didn't get the picture! So I was on a mission for the rest of the shoot to get a picture of her standing up like a big girl!! I really hope her parents cherish this one... even if it isn't a perfect picture!

I launched the blog 24 hours ago and have TEN photoshoots ready to be scheduled and have 241 hits! I am beyond words! I never thought it would take off like this! I am SOOO thankful to everyone that stopped by to take a look and to all of you that have contacted me! The encouragement has meant so much! I know that I have so many people supporting me and really feel like I am ready to take this on!
However, Thomas (my husband) will be out of town for military training from the 23rd to the 6th of February! And no husband means no baby-sitter for our 5 month old daughter! So I will be planning out my schedule over the next few days from as early as this weekend through the end of February! And will send everyone a list of dates and times to choose from [first come first served].

This gorgeous little guy was only 9 days old! He was born into one of the biggest and greatest families I know! He is their 6th child [5th son]!
I was so excited to be able to photograph him! He was wide awake the whole time but did so great! It was a wonderful experience!

I met Nichole 2 years ago! Our husband's work at the same Squadron here in North Carolina! She has become a wonderful friend! She was the first person to ask me to take pictures! I was so excited and completely terrified! I don't know what I was so afraid of... her and her daughter are so beautiful! I took these in her front yard here on base with my 50mm f/1.8 (I have now upgraded to the f/1.4!).

For the past 4 months I have mainly been photographing my baby girl, Lily! And though she is the most beautiful little model I could have ever asked for... I am looking to shoot more people!
I have done two practice photo shoots so far. One for my dear friend, Nichole and her beautiful 16 month old daughter, Haylee! And a newborn shoot for the Hall family with their newest [of six] child, Josiah Everett!
I will be posting some of my favorite pictures from each shoot over the next few days!
And will continue to post pictures from the last 4 months with my daughter as well as any more practice shoots I have the privilege of doing over the next year!
Please check back for updates and feel free to leave me any comments or constructive criticism on my shoots!
